New Home Builder: Prewitt Custom Homes

For nearly three decades, Jim Prewitt has lived, worked and raised a family in the Triangle. He has experienced the homebuilding industry from the ground up starting out as an onsite general laborer for a national homebuilder in 1983. While he was getting his hands dirty learning the basics of the building industry he was already dreaming of owning his own custom building company. Over the course of the next 12 years, Jim's solid work ethic, honesty and determination earned rapid advancement through the building community. With each step up the industry ladder Jim never forgot the value of providing an honest days work to create a quality product. In 1997 Jim's dream came one step closer to becoming a reality when he co-founded a new custom home building company along with two partners. Together with his two partners, Jim built one of the largest and most successful custom home building companies in the Triangle. Even though being a co-owner of a custom building business was gratifying, it still did not fulfill his dream of being the sole proprietor of his own custom home building company. To enable him to fulfill his dream, Jim sold his shares of his company and formed Prewitt Custom Homes. Now with over 27 years' experience building fine homes, Jim welcomes the opportunity to meet and exceed his customers' expectations. He says, "I deliver as much value as I can. You could also say I leave a piece of my heart in every home I build." Each of his homes are so different, his homeowners know they are living in the home made expressly for them. A builder at heart, Jim is most satisfied in the field, where he enjoys communicating directly with customers, vendors and contractors. His passion is building the finest custom homes on the market for his customers and ensuring that all of their concerns are met long after the sale.
