Community Description

Situated in Creve Coeur, in the heart of west St. Louis County, Enclave Bellerive is only minutes from downtown St. Louis. It is in close proximity to theater, museums, the symphony, fine dining, schools, hospitals and places of worship, yet it is surrounded by acres of parkland, idyllic neighborhoods and elegant shopping. Recreational opportunities abound, from major league sports teams, to golf, tennis and hiking. From centrally located Creve Coeur, you're only twenty minutes to just about anything. Creve Coeur has a population of 16,759, spanning 11.36 square miles. It is home to two private colleges, five private high schools, five private primary schools, two public school districts and approximately fifteen houses of worship. Three major hospitals are located within four miles of Enclave Bellerive. Nearby communities include Ladue, Frontenac and Town & Country. Founded along the path of a centuries old Indian trail between the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers, Creve Coeur, which means "broken heart" in French, gets its name from an old Indian legend. According to the story, an Indian princess fell in love with a French fur trapper, but the love was not returned. When she leapt from a ledge overlooking what is now known as Creve Coeur Lake, the lake formed into a broken heart. Surrounded by tree-canopied roads and rolling countryside, Enclave Bellerive is located in one of the most desirable communities in the St. Louis area.
