PRIMEDIA Acquires americanhomeguides.com, a Leading Provider of Online New Homes Listings
February 03, 2005 -- PRIMEDIA Inc.'s Consumer Guides, the country's leading publisher and distributor of
apartment, new home and auto guides, significantly expanded its new homes Internet presence today
with the acquisition of www.americanhomeguides.com from American Home Guides, Inc., the Hollywood, FL
based provider of Internet marketing for new home builders, developers and their agencies. With the
acquisition, PRIMEDIA's New Home Guide business adds significant Internet traffic, gaining millions
of online visitors to www.americanhomeguides.com. PRIMEDIA new home advertisers gain millions of
potential customers and consumers gain access to more new home listings across the country. Financial
terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

foremost brands in print and online," said Bob Metz, chief executive officer, PRIMEDIA Consumer
Guides. "Our strength is our ability to provide advertisers with access to consumers through
well-established distribution channels for our print guides and a strong online presence. With the
acquisition of American Home Guides, we're adding another powerful online presence to serve our
advertisers and customers. In addition, we gain a strategic platform to launch additional print
versions of our New Home Guides in new markets that coincide with areas that American Home Guides
serves well today."
Consumer Guides' New Homes Division is enjoying significant growth, having recently launched new
publications in Houston and Central Florida and will soon enter the Washington, D.C. market. "We're
looking forward to expanding our base in existing markets and providing value in areas where we do
not yet publish our New Home Guide," said Metz.
American Home Guide's family of Web sites, including www.americanhomeguides.com receives millions of
visitors per month and generates tens of thousands of home buyer leads for builders. American Home
Guides' Founder, Owner and President, Barry Lynn, began the company in 1994 as a product of his South
Florida advertising agency. The company quickly grew into a regional and national Web marketing
solution as builders found the Internet to be an effective vehicle to market their homes.
