SAN ANTONIO

As the second largest city in Texas, the variety of employment and recreation opportunities surrounding San Antonio homes guarantees that city residents can always find a way to be occupied.

Spanish explorers came upon the area in 1691, on what happened to be the feast day of Saint Anthony of Padova, leading them to call their new holding San Antonio. The Alamo, originally a Spanish fortress and Roman Catholic mission, still survives near San Antonio houses. Better remembered in American history as the location of the Battle of the Alamo, the fortress is now the biggest tourist attraction in the state.

As the home of two Fortune Global 500 companies, and the regional headquarters of dozens of companies including Clear Channel, Toyota and AT&T, new homes in San Antonio are in close proximity to plenty of employment opportunities. Health care is also a leading industry in the city, and is the home of the South Texas Medical Center, currently the only medical research center in south Texas.

Younger members of San Antonio homes will appreciate the theme parks located only a short drive away away. The city is home to SeaWorld as well as Six Flags Fiesta Texas, containing enough roller coasters, water rides and stage shows to keep kids busy for multiple trips.

Residents of new homes in San Antonio can find fun and relaxation at the River Walk, which contains network of walkways along the San Antonio River lined with a variety of shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. During the spring, floats from the Fiesta San Antonio, the city's largest annual festival, can be found at the River Walk literally floating through the water.
